Scary Movie 2 movie review - Aussieboyreviews

IS SCARY MOVIE 2 THE MOST CRUDE, SILLY AND FOOLISH SEQUEL EVER?

To be honest, despite new concepts to mock and a ton of crude jokes, Scary Movie 2 doesn’t live up to it’s predecessor. The humour is so-bad-it’s-so-good, but the stupid ideas aren’t as engaging.

Storyline

Four teenagers who are tricked by Professor Oldman into visiting a haunted house begin to experience strange happenings, leading them to decide they must get rid of the supernatural entity.

Aussie boy's thoughts

Another round of gross-out humour, extremely crude parodies and extreme-level sex jokes, but it’s also important to have an equally fun story with its constant laughs. Unfortunately, Scary Movie 2 has the humour without the fun plot. Not only was the first Scary Movie hilarious in the way it mocked horror movies, but it had the entertaining murder-sort-of-mystery plot to it. And while it’s still fun to see Cindy Campbell being the only sort-of-rational human as crazy sh#t goes down, it’s nothing as much fun, ridiculous or enjoyable as the first film.

Scary Movie 2 revolves around a group of our stupid leads who visit a house that happens to be haunted, and as expected, this movie mocks the haunted house genre whilst getting the characters to comedically defeat the ghost. Yeah, the ghost. Unlike its predecessor’s slasher-comedy plot, this sequel is just nowhere near as entertaining or enjoyable as the first film. And that’s simply because it doesn’t do good enough at making fun of the haunted house story.

Other than that, at least you know to expect extremely frequent humour, consisting of sex jokes, potty humour, horror movie references, ridiculous characters and stupid situations that wouldn’t happen in real life. On average, there’s probably two or three laughs each minute. And it’s a spoof comedy, so expect things like a character’s stretching penis choking the Poltergeist clown before it’s raped and trees smoking human-joints.
