Aussie boy's thoughts

La La Land is nothing short of a profound and beautiful movie; the gleaming romance is presented gorgeously through songs, dancing and talent, while the overall achievement is to inspire people to follow their dreams. You do not have to be even the tiniest fan of musicals to absolutely adore this magnificently-directed film. This isn’t your typical love story with overly-sappy moments and predictable tragedies; it’s a love letter to passion and talent, with the most delightful sighting of Las Angeles you’ll see in the cinema.

Thanks to Damien Chazelle’s masterful screenwriting and excellent work behind the camera, this romantic musical with plenty of ups and downs notably dodges the stereotypes for everyday romance stories, from the meeting, dating and emotional attachment between the two glamorous leads. This brilliant screenplay is put to good use as the film is visually stunning and viewers will constantly admire the direction and cinematography. The sequences of singing, dancing and beautiful sensations aren’t horribly frequent and they are just stunning; enough to bring smiles of love and joy to your face, with tears in your eyes.

Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone give wonderful performances as these two very passionate and talented characters willing to sacrifice to pursue their dreams, which, from the first second, reaches to your heart and shows anything is possible when you’re passionate about it. The most surprising aspect of La La Land is how it pushes you to want to create your goals and pursue your dreams, even while the ending is so bittersweet and there’s a big shine on the love between Gosling’s and Stone’s characters. This movie is a true masterpiece and is definitely worth your time.
