Aussie boy's thoughts

Keanu Reeves’ John Wick is the excessively stylish, resilient and vengeance-seeking protagonist who introduced the true action blockbuster. Chad Stahelski executes this story beginning with a seemingly quiet man in a seemingly quiet life, which is unforgettably perfect when it suddenly connects to its first loud and brutal fight scene. Reeves delivers a fine performance, which then leads along with acceptable character development. But once that action switch is turned on, it remains on!

The shock of the first action sequence really raises our hopes for the rest of the movie, especially considering that John Wick’s themes are centred around the revenge of a former assassin. Thankfully, the movie really forces through and lives up to our hopes. There’s extremely violent action sequences that are stylish in combat, but the plot is actually really easy to concentrate on which makes it an easy watch.

Wick’s enemy is certainly a very finely constructed antagonist, as we root for Reeves’ character as he fights for vengeance. The whole plot, from start to finish, is also very entertaining and watchable. But the best thing about this action-thriller is that it creates a legendary protagonist who matches perfectly with the action-thriller genre. There’s frequently stylish and thrilling moments of activity.
